Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with his Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin, is set to inaugurate 26 schools of excellence and 15 model schools in Tamil Nadu on September 5. The invitation extended to Kejriwal by Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh follows a meeting at the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence. The event encompasses the launch of the DMK government’s Puthumai Penn Thittam, an innovative project for girls, as well as the inauguration of the state’s schools of excellence and model schools.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Kejriwal tweeted, “I am elated to join the people of Tamil Nadu in their journey towards an education revolution. We will together be launching 3 crucial projects on September 5.” He highlighted the significance of the education initiatives, drawing parallels between Delhi and Tamil Nadu in launching state-of-the-art Schools of Excellence (SOEs) and upscaling 15 model schools to offer professional courses.

The Puthumai Penn Thittam initiative by the Tamil Nadu government aims to provide Rs 1,000 per month as higher education aid to female students, as mentioned by Kejriwal. Education Minister Anbil Mahesh, in a tweet following the meeting, stated that he had extended the invitation to Kejriwal on behalf of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, emphasizing the importance of Kejriwal’s participation in the inaugural event in Chennai.

This collaboration follows a previous interaction in April, during which MK Stalin, accompanied by Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, visited government schools in Delhi. Stalin praised the innovative business blasters program and encouraged Tamil students and teachers to go beyond textbooks, emphasizing the need for knowledge and skill development beyond traditional learning methods.
